How I Work
I help organizations turn complex ideas into clear, purposeful messaging. That means writing less and saying more.
Whether I’m leading a campaign, building a resource, or translating policy into action, my goal is always the same: make the message useful, focused, and easy to act on. I see my role as a messaging strategist as helping organizations shape what matters so it’s clear, relevant, and positioned to move people.
That clarity is even more important in a world where content is easier than ever to generate. AI tools can move fast, but without clear prompts, sharp goals, and strategy behind the message, speed doesn’t mean much. Messaging isn’t being replaced—it’s becoming the foundation for everything we do.
Messaging Isn’t Just Work—It’s What I Love to Do
These creative pieces are a window into how I approach tone, structure, and storytelling when there are no constraints—just the challenge of pulling a reader in and keeping them there.
📄 A Nameless Blessing
He was overlooked by gods and men alike - until something ancient noticed him.
📄 No More Fi's
She’s gone. The heroes failed. Now, a man sits with nothing but silence, his thoughts, and the rain.
📄 Nobody's Superpower
He was invisible his whole life—until a flick of the wrist changed everything.
📄 A Dragon's Roar
Not all dragons need slaying. Not all knights deserve glory.

Professional Foundations
FCA International (2010-July 2025)
I joined FCA as an executive assistant and transitioned into Director of Communications, where I’ve spent over a decade shaping messaging for a national trade association. It’s where I had the opportunity to apply strategy at a higher level — writing for executives, managing content across email, web, and print, and learning how to speak clearly to real people in complex industries.
Creative Spot (2010-2011)
As a junior copywriter, I wrote for clients across TV, print, and digital formats, tailoring messaging to different brands, audiences, and goals. The role gave me a strong foundation in creative collaboration and client-facing communication. It also sharpened my understanding of what it means to write with purpose.
Columbus Recreation & Parks Department (2010)
I got my start interning with the city’s parks department, where I edited newsletters, helped coordinate community outreach, and learned how to translate bureaucratic language into something real. It grounded me in clarity and audience awareness.

The right message drives the best results.
